 \n\n\n\nđŸŒœ Grain silosđŸŒČ Really tall treesâ›Ș Church steeples💧 Water towers📡 And the occasional VERY ambitious antenna \n\n\n\nBut today we’re looking WAY up! đŸ™ïž \n\n\n\nđŸ—ïž HOW DID SKYSCRAPERS BECOME POSSIBLE? \n\n\n\nFor centuries\, there was a pretty big problem with building taller and taller buildings: \n\n\n\nThe walls had to support all that weight. \n\n\n\nThen\, in the late 1800s\, builders began using metal structural frames that could carry the building’s weight instead. \n\n\n\nCombine that with another pretty important invention — the safety elevator — and suddenly building UP became much more practical. \n\n\n\nđŸ™ïž One of the buildings commonly called the world’s first skyscraper was Chicago’s Home Insurance Building\, completed in 1885. \n\n\n\nIt was
