SUMMARY:Facing the Inferno: The Wildfire Photography of Kari Greer
DESCRIPTION:Opens April 22 | On view through July 8 at Mulva Cultural Center Closed Tuesdays! Facing the Inferno presents the powerful work of photographer Kari Greer\, offering a rare and immersive look into the realities of wildland fire. While Greer’s images are often used to support reports and documentation\, this exhibition creates space for deeper reflection—inviting visitors to fully experience the scale\, intensity\, and human impact of fire. Wildfires are an increasingly present part of life for communities across the globe. According to the National Interagency Fire Center\, there were 64\,897 wildfires in the United States in 2024\, burning nearly 9 million acres. Beyond the flames themselves\, smoke and shifting environmental conditions are affecting more people than ever before\, reshaping how we live\, work\, and breathe. Through striking imagery and thoughtful context\, Into the Inferno explores what it means to live in a fire environment. The exhibition encourages conversation around the growing frequency and severity of wildfires\, as well as their far-reaching global impact. Kari Greer\, a photographer with the National Interagency Fire Center\, specializes in wildland fire photography and editorial photojournalism. Her work has appeared in publications including National Geographic Adventure and The New York Times\, capturing moments that are both immediate and enduring. \n\n\n\n\n\nPlan Your Visit

SUMMARY:Cowboys: History & Hollywood
DESCRIPTION:“I seem to remember a famous country and western song warning mothers not to let their babies grow up to be cowboys… The song forgot to say that cowboys can sometimes grow up and be President.” —President Ronald Reagan\, June 5\, 1985\nStep into the boots of America’s most enduring icon in “Cowboys: History & Hollywood\,” an all-new exhibition that explores the real-life grit and the silver-screen glamour of the American Cowboy.\nFrom the open range to the big screen\, this exhibition blends true Western history with Hollywood mythmaking. Discover how the cowboy—once a rugged laborer driving cattle across unforgiving terrain—became a larger-than-life legend symbolizing strength\, self-reliance\, and freedom. Explore authentic gear\, rare photographs\, historic artifacts\, and memorabilia from classic Western films that shaped the cowboy image we know today.\nLearn how presidents—including Ronald Reagan himself—embraced the cowboy persona\, connecting leadership with the values of hard work\, liberty\, and determination.\nWhether you grew up playing cowboy or fell in love with them through film\, this exhibition will take you on a journey through fact\, folklore\, and the cultural legacy of a figure that still rides tall in the American imagination.\nAs part of this 10\,000 square foot exhibition\, artifacts will include dozens of historic saddles\, cowboy hats\, firearms and other cowboy equipment from the 19th and early 20th centuries. The Mulva Cultural Center exhibition is the second time and final time it is on display.\nGet ready to ride into the story of the American Cowboy—real and reimagined.\nProduced by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum in partnership with Mulva Cultural Center. \n\n\n\nEvent is FREE but Reservations are required
