DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 5th Annual Back-to-School Event\, where we are helping students in the Clintonville and Marion School Districts start the new school year with confidence! \n\n\n\n This ONE DAY ONLY event is open to: ✔️ All school-aged students (18 and under) residing in the Clintonville and Marion School Districts(Students do NOT need to attend the public schools to attend this event) \n\n\n\n🎒 Registered students will receive: \n\n\n\n\n 👕 A brand-new back-to-school outfit (tops\, bottoms\, undergarments\, and accessories)\n\n\n\n 👟 A shoe voucher for B&H Shoe Store\n\n\n\n ✏️ New school supplies\, including a backpack\, crayons\, scissors\, notebooks\, and more\n\n\n\n 🤝 Access to community resource booths and helpful family resources\n\n\n\n\n Registration is required. Learners of all ages will be invited to explore the horse-powered world of Wade House and Wisconsin in the mid-1800s. Upon arrival\, visitors can step inside a reproduction stagecoach and learn about plank road travel. The horse-drawn world of the 19th century is on display in the Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum\, where learners will test their skills by building their very own model carriage. A horse-drawn wagon transports visitors across the Mullet River to the historic core of the site where authentically costumed interpreters\, muscle power and waterpower bring to life the work of the blacksmith and sawyer. Guests will also tour the 27-room Stagecoach Hotel\, which once served weary travelers along the Plank Road. This made the 27-room Greek Revival hotel a popular resting point for weary travelers. Three generations of the Wade family resided on the Wade House property\, with the stagecoach inn operating until around 1872. The Kohler family and the Kohler Foundation purchased Wade House in 1950 and began a top-to-bottom restoration. The site became property of the Wisconsin Historical Society and opened to the public in 1953. Here\, visitors can journey back to the horse-powered world that existed before planes\, cars\, and trains. The site features the stagecoach hotel built and owned by Sylvanus and Betsey Wade\, early settlers of Greenbush\, as well as a blacksmith shop\, sawmill\, and the Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum\, which houses Wisconsin’s largest collection of carriages and wagons. SUMMARY:Junior Investigator Program: 🌎Renewable Energy
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Junior Investigators Program designed for ages 6 to 12 happening on the 4th Wednesday of the month. Open to homeschoolers and school-age children who would like to attend. If you enjoyed learning about a variety of topics at Storytime\, then Junior Investigators program is designed for those who have grown out of Storytime. We will explore a different topic each month and do a variety of lessons and activities to help further expand the participants’ understanding of the topics. The topic of our September Junior Investigators program is Renewable Energy.Be dressed for the weather as we’ll be heading outside for portions of this program. Come and have fun as we discover a variety of different topics each month\, explore outside\, and more. NNC staff will monitor the weather\, temperature\, and conditions and adjust as needed if we need to stay indoors.  Ages: 6 -12 (Younger siblings are welcome) Max of 30 kids\, so registration is required. Fee: $5 per child doing the activities. Register online or by calling 715-758-6999.
