DESCRIPTION:It’s that time when families start planning on what they’re going to do for the summer! \n\n\n\nLet Kids Bowl Free help!  Each registered child (check each center for age requirements) gets to bowl 2 games free every single day!  (Check individual bowling alleys for shoe rental details) all summer long at NO Cost to Parents!  (But plan for the concessions…. my kids LOVE bowling alley food\, just sayin’) \n\n\n\nParents\, do you want to bowl with your kids? Then you’ll want to check out the Family Pass! This allows parents\, older siblings and babysitters to bowl alongside the registered kids. This is a one-time payment that allows up to 4 adults to bowl 2 games free all summer long\, with your Kids Bowl Free registered children. (You can add the family pass on at any time during the season.) \n\n\n\nHow it works: \n\n\n\n\nLocate a Kids Bowl Free participating location near you (this is the only one covered all summer)\n\n\n\nRegister – Create your Kids Bowl Free account and register your kids.  Decide if the Family Pass is right for your family.\n\n\n\nHave Fun – Make Memories – Go Screen-Free — Make New Friends–  Bowl 2 games free every day\, all summer long! \n\n\n\n\nThings to Note: \n\n\n\n\nEach bowling alley determines the times the program is active. Program begins April 30th! You can find the details here when you choose a location near you. Dates and Times will vary! (I’ve seen some start as early as April 30th and as late as June 1st and end between August 30-Sept 2) I’ve seen only 1 with hours available 7 days a week.\n\n\n\nCheck each location for age requirements. I’ve seen them range from 2-18 with some ending as early as 15.\n\n\n\nI found at least 8 participating centers within 60 minutes of Clintonville.\n\n\n\nThe Registration is not transferable between the different bowling centers.

DESCRIPTION:Every Day is a Holiday Facebook Post \n\n\n\n🍝 EVERY DAY IS A HOLIDAY! 🍝September 15 is Linguine Day! \n\n\n\nGood news\, everybody. \n\n\n\nWe figured out what’s for dinner tonight. 😂 \n\n\n\nToday is Linguine Day! \n\n\n\n🍝 FIRST — WHAT MAKES LINGUINE…LINGUINE? \n\n\n\nLinguine is an Italian pasta that’s long like spaghetti\, but instead of being round\, it’s slightly flattened. \n\n\n\nIts name comes from the Italian word lingua\, meaning tongue — so linguine roughly translates to “little tongues.” \n\n\n\nYou’re welcome. \n\n\n\nYou can now announce at dinner: \n\n\n\n“Kids! Come eat your little tongues!” \n\n\n\nPlease report back with their reactions. 😂 \n\n\n\n🇮🇹 Linguine is traditionally associated with the Liguria region of Italy\, where it’s commonly paired with seafood or pesto. \n\n\n\nBut we’re in Rural Northeast Wisconsin on a Tuesday. \n\n\n\nWe’re keeping dinner EASY. 😂 \n\n\n\n🍋🧄 EASY GARLIC BUTTER LINGUINE \n\n\n\nYou’ll need: \n\n\n\n🍝 1 package linguine🧈 4 tablespoons butter🧄 3–4 cloves garlic\, minced🧀 About ½ cup grated Parmesan🍋 A squeeze of lemon juice🧂 Salt & pepper🌿 Parsley or Italian seasoning if you’ve got it \n\n\n\nMake it: \n\n\n\nCook the linguine according to the package directions — but save about ½ cup of that pasta water before draining. \n\n\n\nMelt the butter in a large pan\, add the garlic and cook briefly until fragrant. \n\n\n\nAdd your cooked linguine\, Parmesan and a splash of pasta water. It’s a holiday! Go do 50 push-ups!” \n\n\n\nThat’s not quite where we’re going with this. 😂 \n\n\n\n❤️ MOVEMENT DOESN’T HAVE TO MEAN A “WORKOUT.” \n\n\n\nFor teens — and honestly\, for the rest of us — being active can look like a LOT of different things. \n\n\n\n🏀 Shoot some hoops.🚲 Go for a bike ride.🐕 Take the dog for a walk.🥾 Hit a trail.💃 Turn up the music and dance.🏐 Play volleyball.🛼 Roller skate.🏋️ Lift weights with proper instruction.🥏 Throw a Frisbee.🌳 Head to the park.🎮 Play a game that gets everybody moving. \n\n\n\nThe best kind of activity? \n\n\n\nThe one they’ll actually WANT to do again. \n\n\n\nAnd movement isn’t just about muscles or sports. \n\n\n\nIt can be a chance to get outside\, clear your head\, spend time with friends\, learn something new and take a break from everything competing for your attention. \n\n\n\n💪 TODAY’S FAMILY CHALLENGE: \n\n\n\nLet the TEENAGER choose. \n\n\n\nYep. \n\n\n\nWe’re handing over control. 😬😂 \n\n\n\nGive them 30 minutes and ask: \n\n\n\n“What should we do that gets everybody moving?” \n\n\n\nThere is ONE rule: \n\n\n\nThe grown-ups have to participate too. \n\n\n\nTeen wants to play basketball? \n\n\n\nYou’re playing. \n\n\n\nBike ride? \n\n\n\nFind your helmet. \n\n\n\nDance challenge? \n\n\n\nWe’re very sorry about what is about to happen\, teenagers. 😂 \n\n\n\nWalk around town? \n\n\n\nPerfect. \n\n\n\nAnd parents… \n\n\n\nTry REALLY hard not to turn it into a lecture\, competition or fitness lesson. \n\n\n\nJust hang out with your kid. ❤️ \n\n\n\n👇 TEENS — THIS QUESTION IS FOR YOU! \n\n\n\nIf somebody told you that you HAD to be active for an hour but YOU got to choose what you did\, what are you picking? \n\n\n\n🏀 Sports🚲 Biking🥾 Hiking🏋️ Gym💃 Dancing🐕 Walking the dog🏊 Swimming🎮 Active gaming😴 Attempting to argue that sleeping requires muscles \n\n\n\nNice try on that last one. 😂 \n\n\n\nAnd parents of teenagers: \n\n\n\nWhat activity can you STILL convince your teenager to do with you? \n\n\n\nWe might all need ideas. 😂👇 \n\n\n\n🏃 Happy Teenager Workout Day! \n\n\n\nMove a little. \n\n\n\nLaugh a lot. \n\n\n\nAnd if your teenager voluntarily agrees to a family activity… \n\n\n\nDO NOT MAKE A BIG DEAL ABOUT IT OR YOU’LL SCARE THEM AWAY. 😂❤️

DESCRIPTION:The Waupaca Historical Society will welcome Dr. Connie Haack-Hurlbut for “A Visit with Margaret Ashmun” on Thursday\, September 17\, at 6 p.m. at the Holly History & Genealogy Center at 321 S. Main Street\, Waupaca. \n\n\n\n Born in Rural in 1875\, Margaret Ashmun went on to become an educator\, author\, editor\, artist\, traveler\, and biographer. Her sizeable body of work explored subjects that remain surprisingly relevant today\, including women’s education and independence\, adoption and the hopes for caring homes\, the effects of domestic violence\, the horrors of war and the need to find joy in everyday life. Even today\, Ashmun’s books and writings continue to attract readers and researchers.  \n\n\n\nHaack-Hurlbut’s journey into Ashmun’s life began with a chance question she heard on a Wisconsin Public Radio call-in program and grew into decades of “detective work” that took her from Waupaca and the Chain O’Lakes to libraries and archives in Wisconsin\, Washington\, D.C.\, New York City\, and locations connected to Ashmun’s life in Connecticut and Massachusetts. \n\n\n\n A retired college educator and longtime community volunteer\, Haack-Hurlbut was selected Wisconsin Teacher of the Year\, then chosen Midwest Teacher of the Year and became one of four finalists for the AVA/ACTE National Teacher of the Year. She was also featured in the American Association of University Women’s book\, “Dreamers and Doers of Northeast Wisconsin\, Vol 1.” Like Ashmun\, Haack-Hurlbut credits her own formative years in Waupaca’s Girl Scouts\, Job’s Daughters\, and local restaurant work for shaping her lifelong commitment to education and service.  \n\n\n\nThis program is free and open to the public\, and all are welcome to attend. You\, as tax-paying citizens of this county\, will always have a say in what happens within the walls of the Sheriff’s Office. Government is about accountability\, transparency\, and being accessible. Our citizens and staff will always be treated with kindness\, respect\, dignity\, and love – no matter what they are going through in life\, and regardless of their politics. DESCRIPTION:It’s that time when families start planning on what they’re going to do for the summer! \n\n\n\nLet Kids Bowl Free help!  Each registered child (check each center for age requirements) gets to bowl 2 games free every single day!  (Check individual bowling alleys for shoe rental details) all summer long at NO Cost to Parents!  (But plan for the concessions…. my kids LOVE bowling alley food\, just sayin’) \n\n\n\nParents\, do you want to bowl with your kids? Then you’ll want to check out the Family Pass! This allows parents\, older siblings and babysitters to bowl alongside the registered kids. This is a one-time payment that allows up to 4 adults to bowl 2 games free all summer long\, with your Kids Bowl Free registered children. (You can add the family pass on at any time during the season.) \n\n\n\nHow it works: \n\n\n\n\nLocate a Kids Bowl Free participating location near you (this is the only one covered all summer)\n\n\n\nRegister – Create your Kids Bowl Free account and register your kids.  Decide if the Family Pass is right for your family.\n\n\n\nHave Fun – Make Memories – Go Screen-Free — Make New Friends–  Bowl 2 games free every day\, all summer long! \n\n\n\n\nThings to Note: \n\n\n\n\nEach bowling alley determines the times the program is active. Program begins April 30th! You can find the details here when you choose a location near you. Dates and Times will vary! (I’ve seen some start as early as April 30th and as late as June 1st and end between August 30-Sept 2) I’ve seen only 1 with hours available 7 days a week.\n\n\n\nCheck each location for age requirements. I’ve seen them range from 2-18 with some ending as early as 15.\n\n\n\nI found at least 8 participating centers within 60 minutes of Clintonville.\n\n\n\nThe Registration is not transferable between the different bowling centers.
