We Can HelpJ&R Aquatic Animal Rescue is proud to host an Exotic Pet Surrender Event on April 25th from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Shawano County Library located at 128 S Sawyer St\, Shawano\, WI 54166.In many regions\, rehoming options for exotic pets such as fish\, birds\, and reptiles are limited. Unfortunately\, some pet owners\, feeling they have no alternative\, may consider releasing their animals into the wild. However\, doing so poses serious risks to both the animal and the environment. This event offers a responsible and ethical solution.This event provides a safe\, judgment-free opportunity for individuals to surrender exotic pets they can no longer care for.Local organizations will be on-site to accept fish\, invertebrates\, reptiles\, pet birds\, small mammals\, and plants—no questions asked. In addition to surrender services\, attendees will have the opportunity to meet animal ambassadors and learn about responsible pet ownership and invasive species.J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue (JRAAR) is hosting this event in partnership with Shawano County Library\, Waterways Association of Menominee and Shawano Counties\, Inc. (WAMSCO)\, and the University of Wisconsin Sea Grant/Water Resources Institutes.Important Information:– Adoption Availability: Surrendered animals will be placed for adoption following a mandatory quarantine and observation period. Same-day adoptions will not be available.– Accepted Species: We welcome exotic pets\, including fish\, invertebrates\, reptiles\, pet birds\, small mammals\, and plants.– Non-Accepted Animals: Domestic pets and farm animals—including but not limited to dogs\, cats\, rats\, mice\, rabbits\, guinea pigs\, goats\, horses\, pigs\, and chickens—will not be accepted. (Check individual bowling alleys for shoe rental details) all summer long at NO Cost to Parents!  (But plan for the concessions…. my kids LOVE bowling alley food\, just sayin’) \n\n\n\nParents\, do you want to bowl with your kids? Then you’ll want to check out the Family Pass! This allows parents\, older siblings and babysitters to bowl alongside the registered kids. This is a one-time payment that allows up to 4 adults to bowl 2 games free all summer long\, with your Kids Bowl Free registered children. (You can add the family pass on at any time during the season.) \n\n\n\nHow it works: \n\n\n\n\nLocate a Kids Bowl Free participating location near you (this is the only one covered all summer)\n\n\n\nRegister – Create your Kids Bowl Free account and register your kids.  Decide if the Family Pass is right for your family.\n\n\n\nHave Fun – Make Memories – Go Screen-Free — Make New Friends–  Bowl 2 games free every day\, all summer long! \n\n\n\n\nThings to Note: \n\n\n\n\nEach bowling alley determines the times the program is active. Program begins April 30th! You can find the details here when you choose a location near you. Dates and Times will vary! DESCRIPTION:The Public School Open Enrollment period is open!Fill out the form for alternative in-person public school options and also virtual and virtual hybrid partnership school options. \n\n\n\nFind the form and FAQ here: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment \n\n\n\nWhat is Open Enrollment?\n\n\n\nThe inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside. \n\n\n\nWho can apply?\n\n\n\nAny Wisconsin resident in 4K to grade 12 may apply to attend a nonresident school district under the open enrollment program. However\, a child may transfer to a nonresident school district for early childhood education or 4K only if the child’s resident school district offers the same type of program and only if the child is eligible for that program in the resident school district. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThere was a question a while back regarding open-enrollment. \n\n\n\nAccording to the WI DPI\, these are the only acceptable reasons a resident district can deny an open-enrollment request. \n\n\n\nPlease note that it does not say “too many students have applied to out-of-district schools”. It also doesn’t allow attendance records at the resident school to determine open-enrollment status to an out-of-district school. \n\n\n\nThis is just for Open Enrollment\, this does not include the School Voucher Programs. \n\n\n\nDeadline for Open Enrollment (public school) is April 30th \n\n\n\nDeadline for School Choice (private school) is April 17th. \n\n\n\nI also found out that there is a non-profit organization advocating for Virtual and Open-enrollment students. This is a one-time payment that allows up to 4 adults to bowl 2 games free all summer long\, with your Kids Bowl Free registered children. (You can add the family pass on at any time during the season.) \n\n\n\nHow it works: \n\n\n\n\nLocate a Kids Bowl Free participating location near you (this is the only one covered all summer)\n\n\n\nRegister – Create your Kids Bowl Free account and register your kids.  Decide if the Family Pass is right for your family.\n\n\n\nHave Fun – Make Memories – Go Screen-Free — Make New Friends–  Bowl 2 games free every day\, all summer long! \n\n\n\n\nThings to Note: \n\n\n\n\nEach bowling alley determines the times the program is active. Program begins April 30th! You can find the details here when you choose a location near you. Dates and Times will vary! (I’ve seen some start as early as April 30th and as late as June 1st and end between August 30-Sept 2) I’ve seen only 1 with hours available 7 days a week.\n\n\n\nCheck each location for age requirements. I’ve seen them range from 2-18 with some ending as early as 15.\n\n\n\nI found at least 8 participating centers within 60 minutes of Clintonville.\n\n\n\nThe Registration is not transferable between the different bowling centers.
