SUMMARY:Sturgeon Updates 🐟
DESCRIPTION:Lake sturgeon from the Winnebago System are getting ready to make their spawning run up the Wolf River to the Shawano Dam. Some sturgeon have also been seen staging on the Peshtigo River\, waiting for the right conditions to spawn. \n\n\n\nLake sturgeon usually spawn when water temperatures reach about 53 degrees Fahrenheit. However\, when water levels are low (like this year)\, they might not start spawning until water temperatures are closer to 60 degrees. The current water temperatures in the system are hovering around 50 degrees Fahrenheit. \n\n\n\nOnce the lake sturgeon begin making their spawning run up the Wolf River\, there are several locations where they can be seen up close\, including:  \n\n\n\n\nWolf River Sturgeon Trail (near New London) \n\n\n\nHwy 156 (near the Navarino State Wildlife Area)\n\n\n\nBamboo Bend at Shiocton \n\n\n\nShawano Dam in Shawano \n\n\n\n\nIf you do head out during the spawn\, don’t forget to grab a pair of polarized sunglasses. These will help reduce the glare from the water and allow you to get a better look at the lake sturgeon. \n\n\n\nCan’t make it out to see them in person? Check out these underwater camera feeds from Bamboo Bend in Shiocton and the Shawano Dam.  \n\n\n\nIn a few weeks\, you may also see lake sturgeon spawning on the lower Fox River in De Pere\, the lower Peshtigo River in Peshtigo and the Chippewa River. \n\n\n\nDaily spawning updates will also be posted to the DNR’s Lake Sturgeon Spawning webpage throughout the spawning season. \n\n\n\nYou can also follow Wolf River Cam for updates.

DESCRIPTION:It’s that time when families start planning on what they’re going to do for the summer! \n\n\n\nLet Kids Bowl Free help!  Each registered child (check each center for age requirements) gets to bowl 2 games free every single day!  (Check individual bowling alleys for shoe rental details) all summer long at NO Cost to Parents!  (But plan for the concessions…. my kids LOVE bowling alley food\, just sayin’) \n\n\n\nParents\, do you want to bowl with your kids? Then you’ll want to check out the Family Pass! This allows parents\, older siblings and babysitters to bowl alongside the registered kids. This is a one-time payment that allows up to 4 adults to bowl 2 games free all summer long\, with your Kids Bowl Free registered children. (You can add the family pass on at any time during the season.) \n\n\n\nHow it works: \n\n\n\n\nLocate a Kids Bowl Free participating location near you (this is the only one covered all summer)\n\n\n\nRegister – Create your Kids Bowl Free account and register your kids. DESCRIPTION:Lake sturgeon from the Winnebago System are getting ready to make their spawning run up the Wolf River to the Shawano Dam. Some sturgeon have also been seen staging on the Peshtigo River\, waiting for the right conditions to spawn. \n\n\n\nLake sturgeon usually spawn when water temperatures reach about 53 degrees Fahrenheit. However\, when water levels are low (like this year)\, they might not start spawning until water temperatures are closer to 60 degrees. The current water temperatures in the system are hovering around 50 degrees Fahrenheit. \n\n\n\nOnce the lake sturgeon begin making their spawning run up the Wolf River\, there are several locations where they can be seen up close\, including:  \n\n\n\n\nWolf River Sturgeon Trail (near New London) \n\n\n\nHwy 156 (near the Navarino State Wildlife Area)\n\n\n\nBamboo Bend at Shiocton \n\n\n\nShawano Dam in Shawano \n\n\n\n\nIf you do head out during the spawn\, don’t forget to grab a pair of polarized sunglasses. These will help reduce the glare from the water and allow you to get a better look at the lake sturgeon. \n\n\n\nCan’t make it out to see them in person? Check out these underwater camera feeds from Bamboo Bend in Shiocton and the Shawano Dam.  \n\n\n\nIn a few weeks\, you may also see lake sturgeon spawning on the lower Fox River in De Pere\, the lower Peshtigo River in Peshtigo and the Chippewa River. \n\n\n\nDaily spawning updates will also be posted to the DNR’s Lake Sturgeon Spawning webpage throughout the spawning season. \n\n\n\nYou can also follow Wolf River Cam for updates.

Hear the stories of the voyageurs travels and witness firsthand a day in the life of these intrepid and hardy men. (But plan for the concessions…. my kids LOVE bowling alley food\, just sayin’) \n\n\n\nParents\, do you want to bowl with your kids? Then you’ll want to check out the Family Pass! This allows parents\, older siblings and babysitters to bowl alongside the registered kids. This is a one-time payment that allows up to 4 adults to bowl 2 games free all summer long\, with your Kids Bowl Free registered children. (You can add the family pass on at any time during the season.) \n\n\n\nHow it works: \n\n\n\n\nLocate a Kids Bowl Free participating location near you (this is the only one covered all summer)\n\n\n\nRegister – Create your Kids Bowl Free account and register your kids.  Decide if the Family Pass is right for your family.\n\n\n\nHave Fun – Make Memories – Go Screen-Free — Make New Friends–  Bowl 2 games free every day\, all summer long! \n\n\n\n\nThings to Note: \n\n\n\n\nEach bowling alley determines the times the program is active. Program begins April 30th! You can find the details here when you choose a location near you. Dates and Times will vary! (I’ve seen some start as early as April 30th and as late as June 1st and end between August 30-Sept 2) I’ve seen only 1 with hours available 7 days a week.\n\n\n\nCheck each location for age requirements. I’ve seen them range from 2-18 with some ending as early as 15.\n\n\n\nI found at least 8 participating centers within 60 minutes of Clintonville. \n\n\n\nThe Registration is not transferrable between the different bowling centers.

DESCRIPTION:Experience real voyageurs arrival at La Baye with their canoes. Join them as they sing traditional songs\, cook hearty meals\, and trade goods with Native Americans. Live the daily life of 1700s Green Bay! \n\n\n\nThis two-day event will portray the voyageurs returning to this remote region of the Pays d’en Haut\, bringing in new supplies of trade goods to La Baye. It is the month of May\, and the voyageurs have arrived in their canot du nords at the La Baye trading post. After completing a four-day voyage from the transshipment point at Fort Michilimackinac\, they have arrived in their canoe brigades laden with trade goods from Montreal and bringing with them a new clerk. The new supply will be traded for the furs that the American Indians accumulated throughout their winter hunting camps. Hear the stories of the voyageurs travels and witness firsthand a day in the life of these intrepid and hardy men. Learn how the trading was conducted between the American Indians and the clerk posted at La Baye.
