Fat tire bikes are also available to rent through the Adventure Park’s Base Camp building\, with ski and snowshoe rentals coming as soon as conditions allow. \n\n\n\nAlthough Zoo hours are shortened\, there’s no shortage of fun things to do on your next visit! Many animals are more active in cooler weather compared to in the heat of summer\, so this is a great time of year to enjoy the Zoo. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a bucket‑list paddle on one of Wisconsin’s most unique winter waters. Lake Columbia is a 378‑acre warm‑water lake created as a cooling pond for Alliant Energy’s 1\,100‑megawatt plant. Water drawn from the Wisconsin River becomes superheated during the cooling process and is released into the lake — keeping it surprisingly warm year‑round. In winter\, temps near the plant can reach 70°\, and in summer they can exceed 100°.This warm water meeting cold air creates a surreal landscape: rolling fog\, frost‑covered trees\, ice‑crusted grasses\, and shimmering hoar frost on everything from fences to rocks.
