DESCRIPTION:The Public School Open Enrollment period is open!Fill out the form for alternative in-person public school options and also virtual and virtual hybrid partnership school options. \n\n\n\nFind the form and FAQ here: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment \n\n\n\nWhat is Open Enrollment?\n\n\n\nThe inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside. \n\n\n\nWho can apply?\n\n\n\nAny Wisconsin resident in 4K to grade 12 may apply to attend a nonresident school district under the open enrollment program. However\, a child may transfer to a nonresident school district for early childhood education or 4K only if the child’s resident school district offers the same type of program and only if the child is eligible for that program in the resident school district. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThere was a question a while back regarding open-enrollment. \n\n\n\nAccording to the WI DPI\, these are the only acceptable reasons a resident district can deny an open-enrollment request. \n\n\n\nPlease note that it does not say “too many students have applied to out-of-district schools”. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a bucket‑list paddle on one of Wisconsin’s most unique winter waters. Lake Columbia is a 378‑acre warm‑water lake created as a cooling pond for Alliant Energy’s 1\,100‑megawatt plant. Water drawn from the Wisconsin River becomes superheated during the cooling process and is released into the lake — keeping it surprisingly warm year‑round. In winter\, temps near the plant can reach 70°\, and in summer they can exceed 100°.This warm water meeting cold air creates a surreal landscape: rolling fog\, frost‑covered trees\, ice‑crusted grasses\, and shimmering hoar frost on everything from fences to rocks.
