DESCRIPTION:Every Day is a Holiday Facebook Page \n\n\n\n🍬 EVERY DAY IS A HOLIDAY! 🍬September 14 is Gobstopper Day! \n\n\n\nToday’s holiday is going to take a while to celebrate… \n\n\n\nIt’s Gobstopper Day! 😂 \n\n\n\nFirst things first: \n\n\n\n🍬 WHAT EXACTLY IS A GOBSTOPPER? \n\n\n\nHere in the U.S.\, we’re more likely to call them jawbreakers — those super-hard\, round candies that seem to last FOREVER. \n\n\n\nThe name “gobstopper” comes from British slang: \n\n\n\n“Gob” = mouth. \n\n\n\nSo basically… \n\n\n\nIt’s a mouth-stopper. \n\n\n\nSuddenly “Gobstopper” sounds a little less magical. 😂 \n\n\n\n🍭 HOW DO THEY GET ALL THOSE LAYERS? \n\n\n\nJawbreakers aren’t usually made in one solid piece. \n\n\n\nCandy makers build them up layer after layer\, repeatedly coating a center with sugar until the candy gets bigger and bigger. \n\n\n\nThat’s why\, if you’ve ever patiently worked your way through one\, you’ll often discover different colors — and sometimes different flavors — as you go. \n\n\n\nAnd YES… \n\n\n\nPatience is important. \n\n\n\nThey’re called jawbreakers. \n\n\n\nNot “Let’s See If My Dentist Has an Opening Tomorrow” candies. 😬😂 \n\n\n\n📚 AND THEN CAME WILLY WONKA… \n\n\n\nAuthor Roald Dahl took the idea to another level in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with the fictional Everlasting Gobstopper — a candy designed to never get smaller no matter how long you sucked on it. \n\n\n\nWhich raises an important question: \n\n\n\nIf an ACTUAL Everlasting Gobstopper existed… \n\n\n\nWould you want one?! 🤔 \n\n\n\nBecause that sounds amazing for approximately the first three hours. \n\n\n\nAfter Day 6\, I’m going to have questions. 😂 \n\n\n\n🍬 TODAY’S FAMILY FUN: THE CANDY LAYER EXPERIMENT! \n\n\n\nIf you’ve got a jawbreaker or other colorful hard candy\, try a little experiment. \n\n\n\nPut it in a shallow dish of warm water and WATCH. \n\n\n\nAs the outer candy coating dissolves\, you may be able to see the different colors and layers appear. \n\n\n\n🔬 Candy + science = we’re calling it educational. \n\n\n\nYou’re welcome\, parents. 😂 \n\n\n\n👇 NOW LET’S TALK CANDY! \n\n\n\nIf you walked into Willy Wonka’s factory and could choose ONE… \n\n\n\n🍫 Chocolate River🍬 Everlasting Gobstopper🫐 Three-Course-Dinner Gum🍭 An entire room made of candy🏆 The Golden Ticket itself \n\n\n\nWhat are you picking? \n\n\n\nAnd for the grown-ups: \n\n\n\n👇 What candy instantly takes you back to being a kid? \n\n\n\nBottle Caps?Fun Dip?Pop Rocks?Candy cigarettes?Wax bottles?Those strawberry candies that somehow lived in every grandma’s candy dish? 😂 \n\n\n\n🍬 Happy Gobstopper Day! \n\n\n\nMay your candy last all day… \n\n\n\nand may you have enough sense NOT to try biting it. 😂

Each registered child (check each center for age requirements) gets to bowl 2 games free every single day!  (Check individual bowling alleys for shoe rental details) all summer long at NO Cost to Parents!  (But plan for the concessions…. my kids LOVE bowling alley food\, just sayin’) \n\n\n\nParents\, do you want to bowl with your kids? Then you’ll want to check out the Family Pass! This allows parents\, older siblings and babysitters to bowl alongside the registered kids. This is a one-time payment that allows up to 4 adults to bowl 2 games free all summer long\, with your Kids Bowl Free registered children. (You can add the family pass on at any time during the season.) \n\n\n\nHow it works: \n\n\n\n\nLocate a Kids Bowl Free participating location near you (this is the only one covered all summer)\n\n\n\nRegister – Create your Kids Bowl Free account and register your kids.  Decide if the Family Pass is right for your family.\n\n\n\nHave Fun – Make Memories – Go Screen-Free — Make New Friends–  Bowl 2 games free every day\, all summer long! \n\n\n\n\nThings to Note: \n\n\n\n\nEach bowling alley determines the times the program is active. Program begins April 30th! You can find the details here when you choose a location near you. Dates and Times will vary! (I’ve seen some start as early as April 30th and as late as June 1st and end between August 30-Sept 2) I’ve seen only 1 with hours available 7 days a week.\n\n\n\nCheck each location for age requirements. I’ve seen them range from 2-18 with some ending as early as 15.\n\n\n\nI found at least 8 participating centers within 60 minutes of Clintonville.\n\n\n\nThe Registration is not transferable between the different bowling centers.

DESCRIPTION:Every Day is a Holiday Facebook Post \n\n\n\n🍝 EVERY DAY IS A HOLIDAY! 🍝September 15 is Linguine Day! \n\n\n\nGood news\, everybody. \n\n\n\nWe figured out what’s for dinner tonight. 😂 \n\n\n\nToday is Linguine Day! \n\n\n\n🍝 FIRST — WHAT MAKES LINGUINE…LINGUINE? \n\n\n\nLinguine is an Italian pasta that’s long like spaghetti\, but instead of being round\, it’s slightly flattened. \n\n\n\nIts name comes from the Italian word lingua\, meaning tongue — so linguine roughly translates to “little tongues.” \n\n\n\nYou’re welcome. \n\n\n\nYou can now announce at dinner: \n\n\n\n“Kids! Come eat your little tongues!” \n\n\n\nPlease report back with their reactions. 😂 \n\n\n\n🇮🇹 Linguine is traditionally associated with the Liguria region of Italy\, where it’s commonly paired with seafood or pesto. \n\n\n\nBut we’re in Rural Northeast Wisconsin on a Tuesday. \n\n\n\nWe’re keeping dinner EASY. 😂 \n\n\n\n🍋🧄 EASY GARLIC BUTTER LINGUINE \n\n\n\nYou’ll need: \n\n\n\n🍝 1 package linguine🧈 4 tablespoons butter🧄 3–4 cloves garlic\, minced🧀 About ½ cup grated Parmesan🍋 A squeeze of lemon juice🧂 Salt & pepper🌿 Parsley or Italian seasoning if you’ve got it \n\n\n\nMake it: \n\n\n\nCook the linguine according to the package directions — but save about ½ cup of that pasta water before draining. \n\n\n\nMelt the butter in a large pan\, add the garlic and cook briefly until fragrant. \n\n\n\nAdd your cooked linguine\, Parmesan and a splash of pasta water. Each registered child (check each center for age requirements) gets to bowl 2 games free every single day!  (Check individual bowling alleys for shoe rental details) all summer long at NO Cost to Parents!  (But plan for the concessions…. my kids LOVE bowling alley food\, just sayin’) \n\n\n\nParents\, do you want to bowl with your kids? Then you’ll want to check out the Family Pass! This allows parents\, older siblings and babysitters to bowl alongside the registered kids. This is a one-time payment that allows up to 4 adults to bowl 2 games free all summer long\, with your Kids Bowl Free registered children. (You can add the family pass on at any time during the season.) \n\n\n\nHow it works: \n\n\n\n\nLocate a Kids Bowl Free participating location near you (this is the only one covered all summer)\n\n\n\nRegister – Create your Kids Bowl Free account and register your kids.  Decide if the Family Pass is right for your family.\n\n\n\nHave Fun – Make Memories – Go Screen-Free — Make New Friends–  Bowl 2 games free every day\, all summer long! \n\n\n\n\nThings to Note: \n\n\n\n\nEach bowling alley determines the times the program is active. Program begins April 30th! You can find the details here when you choose a location near you. Dates and Times will vary! (I’ve seen some start as early as April 30th and as late as June 1st and end between August 30-Sept 2) I’ve seen only 1 with hours available 7 days a week.\n\n\n\nCheck each location for age requirements. Her sizeable body of work explored subjects that remain surprisingly relevant today\, including women’s education and independence\, adoption and the hopes for caring homes\, the effects of domestic violence\, the horrors of war and the need to find joy in everyday life. Even today\, Ashmun’s books and writings continue to attract readers and researchers.  \n\n\n\nHaack-Hurlbut’s journey into Ashmun’s life began with a chance question she heard on a Wisconsin Public Radio call-in program and grew into decades of “detective work” that took her from Waupaca and the Chain O’Lakes to libraries and archives in Wisconsin\, Washington\, D.C.\, New York City\, and locations connected to Ashmun’s life in Connecticut and Massachusetts. \n\n\n\n A retired college educator and longtime community volunteer\, Haack-Hurlbut was selected Wisconsin Teacher of the Year\, then chosen Midwest Teacher of the Year and became one of four finalists for the AVA/ACTE National Teacher of the Year. She was also featured in the American Association of University Women’s book\, “Dreamers and Doers of Northeast Wisconsin\, Vol 1.” Like Ashmun\, Haack-Hurlbut credits her own formative years in Waupaca’s Girl Scouts\, Job’s Daughters\, and local restaurant work for shaping her lifelong commitment to education and service.  \n\n\n\nThis program is free and open to the public\, and all are welcome to attend. DESCRIPTION:Every Day is A Holiday \n\n\n\n🍔🧀 EVERY DAY IS A HOLIDAY! 🧀🍔September 18 is National Cheeseburger Day! \n\n\n\nWisconsin… \n\n\n\nWe have been TRAINING for this holiday. 😂🧀 \n\n\n\nToday is National Cheeseburger Day\, and honestly\, combining beef with cheese might be one of humanity’s better decisions. \n\n\n\nBut WHO made that decision first? \n\n\n\n🍔 A LITTLE CHEESEBURGER HISTORY… \n\n\n\nLike many great food inventions\, several people have claimed credit. \n\n\n\nOne of the earliest stories dates to the 1920s\, when a young cook named Lionel Sternberger is said to have experimented with putting a slice of American cheese on a hamburger at his father’s California restaurant. \n\n\n\nOther restaurants later claimed their own versions of the invention — and the exact origin is still debated. \n\n\n\nWhich means people have apparently been arguing about cheeseburgers for approximately a century. \n\n\n\nExcellent.
