Here’s why: Massive factory farm expansions are popping up across Wisconsin — in Pierce County, Door County, Crawford County, and more. State policymakers from BOTH sides of the political aisle support these expansions.
But these same policymakers have not experienced the impacts of 1/4-mile-long barns that house thousands of cows, pigs and turkeys or millions of chickens. They have not faced 10,000 manure trucks a year spreading millions of gallons of untreated waste on the fields next door. They have not seen their property values lowered. They have not smelled 3 million decaying chicken carcasses. They have not felt their health decline.
These policymakers represent us, and it’s time they heard from each and everyone one of us.
