Note from the Publisher
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through June.
At the beginning of the month, we received news that changed our plans for the rest of the year. The owners of the building that housed our office and event venue have decided to vacate the property. As a result, plans for additional EpiPen classes and several other events were grounded before they could even get off the ground.
Right now, we don’t know what’s next. We only know where we won’t be. You may see less of us this month as we focus on moving everything out of the building.
In the meantime, we’ve been making some changes online. We recently launched a new newsletter format that breaks information into smaller, easier-to-follow sections and lets us feature actual Top 5 Events instead of category links. We’d love your feedback—the good, the bad, and the ugly! Have you signed up yet? It’s free.
We also rolled out a new calendar view, including a new map view. Some views work better than others on mobile, but we’re continuing to make improvements.
We have several other calendar views. Depending on what you’re looking for and what device you are on, some are better than others. It’s pretty easy to change views regardless of the device.

We often say we’re a family-friendly website, and we know every family is different. Our goal is to provide enough information for families to decide what is—and isn’t—the right fit for them. We’re here to help answer, “What’s going on over there?” so you can make the best decision for your family.
For those who like browsing by category, we also added a new Multigenerational category this month. Please note that previously published events were not updated, so some events may not appear there yet. The category will become more complete as events are added and updated.
Here are the most frequently requested categories:
- Multigenerational
- Live Music/Concerts/Performances
- Music, Culture, Tours
- Libraries/Museums/Nature Centers
- June Dairy Month
- Plan-Ahead (RSVP’s suggested, required or just require something more than “come as you are” – might need chairs, sunscreen, walking shoes, etc)
- Parades
- Veterans
- Free Lunch for Kids
- Community Events/Parades
Is there a category that we should include in this list? We have a lot more available and can add more as well.
If you’re hosting an event you’d like to see on our calendar, it’s free and easy! Just complete our form, and we’ll handle the rest!
