With the emphasis on supporting local and supporting our farmers, we knew we were in the right position! We already have families finding the local fun, and we know that the family gets hungry on adventures. Feeding those hungry bellies goes a long way to extending the fun. More people are putting the emphasis on locally grown. (No diarrhea lettuce here). And we want to support our farmers, not just during the summer months. We’d love to support them year-round.
We spent the last month making the changes needed for the Farm Stand Guide to match our vision. It’s still a work in progress, and we’d love to see it grow even more.
This is a quick Facebook Post that we did to show a little about our vision for this guide. It also includes the COMPLETE list of Farms we’re still looking for. We keep extending the introductory deal because we truly want to help as many farms as possible. Instead of giving a hard deadline for when we’re going to raise the price and then changing it again, once we reach fifteen (15) farm stands in the guide, we’ll raise the prices. For those who haven’t seen what the current deal is:
The sign-up form has 3 prices for you to choose from – choose the one that fits your budget. That is the price for the entire year. In August or September 2027, when your renewal is due, you’ll have the choice of those same 3 options. Those same 3 options will remain through your 2028 renewals, guaranteed. Hopefully those remain your same three options for the life of the guide. If the minimum is still too high, just contact us to work out something that works with your budget. Even better – any changes needed throughout the year to your listing are included: no additional charge.
One of the really exciting things about this guide is that we didn’t just build a Farm Stand Guide—we built the infrastructure that can support several other RuralNEWfamilies projects in the future! Watch for those announcements coming soon.
The Farm Stand Guide itself will continue to grow, too. As more farm stands join, families use it, and give us feedback, we’ll continue adding and improving features to make the guide even more useful.
And if you happen to find a glitch, please let us know! We’ve done a LOT of testing, but every once in a while those pesky technology gremlins manage to sneak in when we’re not looking.
