Star of Bethlehem 🌌
December 6, 2024 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
The mystery of the “Star of Bethlehem” has intrigued scholars and astronomers for centuries, leading to various theories about what astronomical phenomenon might have guided the Magi to Bethlehem.
This presentation by NEWSTAR aims to delve into these theories, including why the “Star of Bethlehem” was unlikely to have been a comet. We will explore historical, biblical and astronomical perspectives to provide a comprehensive understanding of this phenomenon. Additionally, we will propose a plausible explanation that is consistent with both the biblical account and the astronomical knowledge of the era. By examining historical records, ancient texts and modern scientific insights, we hope to shed light on this fascinating topic.
There will be an indoor program followed by viewing the night sky through binoculars and telescopes. The observatory dome telescope will be open and utilized (weather permitting).
