We are actively seeking sponsors for the 2024 Boo Baskets! We’ve had so much fun handing out the Boo Baskets over the years. We’ve loved seeing the photos of the happy kids with their baskets and we’ve had a request to bring it back again this year!

What are Boo Baskets?

Boo Baskets are Halloween baskets, bags or buckets that are filled with goodies and sneakily delivered to friends and neighbors.  It’s a fun, “positive mischief” activity for families to do together to spread good cheer throughout their neighborhoods.  

Why We Need Sponsors

In the past, we filled and delivered 100 baskets and delivered them to families that had signed up within our coverage area. It’s simply not feasible to do it that way anymore. So, our sponsors are going to help us deliver the fun of the Boo Baskets! We need sponsors to “deliver” 1-2 baskets each, and we’ll need them to help distribute the flyers for families to participate. This new way will allow us to reach more families, in a larger area and potentially get new customers through our sponsors‘ doors, while keeping costs down.

What We Do

First, we contact sponsors that make the Boo Baskets possible.  Once we have our sponsors finalized, we start making all the marketing materials, social media, and flyers needed for each Boo Basket and business. We’ll then create an article to help with Boo Basket ideas and we’ll start working on our Boo Baskets and getting the flyers and marketing materials to our sponsors. Our flyers are printed in both English and Spanish.   We will create social posts and articles highlighting each of our sponsors so people know which businesses are making this possible and are participating. We will also create the hashtag so the communities can follow along.

What Do the Sponsors Need to Do

We are looking for businesses that want to sponsor the Boo Basket Fun. First, we need you to fill out our sponsor form. This will let us know which level of sponsorship you’re interested in. (If you aren’t comfortable clicking and filling out the form, you can also send me an e-mail at mariev@RuralNEWfamilies.com).    Sponsors will need to distribute at least 1-2 Boo Baskets, of their choice. We’d love it if you decided to “Boo” more! We will also need a copy of your logo.  We want to be able to give credit where credit is due. New this year: each business will be offered a FREE enhanced business directory listing on our website (good for one year).  We will also need a few businesses to be willing to keep some pre-printed flyers on hand for families that would like to participate but don’t have a printer. (We will make sure you have the copies you need.) If you’d like a little more publicity, put a note in your sponsorship form and we’ll see what we can do.

I’m Not A Business – How Do I Participate

As soon as the new flyers are out, we’d love for you to “Boo” your friends and neighbors. We would gratefully accept any contributions towards our printing costs.

What Do The Families Do

Families will follow along to find out how the sponsors are handing out their Boo Baskets and they should be following Rural Northeast Wisconsin Families to find out when the fun begins. We’ll have printable flyers available on the website along with each of our sponsors. Each family can “Boo” as many other families as they’d like. We’ll have a hashtag and we ask that you share photos of the fun. We also ask that the kids color in the flyer and share that you’ve “been boo’d”. (It’ll be on the flyer- don‘t worry- we won’t make you remember it all).  It’s meant to spread happiness, fun, and a little positive mischief.  It’s a lot of fun to watch the kids trying to giggle quietly as they “sneak” up a driveway to deliver a basket.  As we get closer, we’ll have some ideas for you to create your own Boo Baskets.  You don’t need to be “Boo’d” to pass it along, but we will help get you started.  We want to encourage families to work with their own budgets – no need to go crazy and we also ask that you try to shop local businesses and especially our sponsors and affiliates for your goodies.
