As I mentioned early on in October, this is historically one of our busiest months for events. This year did not disappoint! Several organizations have decided to host events for the very first time! The best way to keep them coming back is to make them a huge success! We’ve made it super EASY to find them ALL!
With the sheer volume of events that are being held, I really can’t pick just Top 5 or even 10 events this week!
Instead, we’ll offer our Top 4 Categories:
🎃👻 Halloween – this will be ALL things Halloween! We do something a little different with Town Trick or Treat times. Take a peek and let me know what you think!
🎃👻 Trunk or Treats – This is ONLY Trunk or Treat Events
⏰ Plan Ahead – These are RSVP events – we don’t want you to miss an RSVP deadline or to miss out because of space restrictions!
🏛️📚 Library/Museum – Libraries are the ONLY resource that are happy to see you spend several hours with them and not spend a penny. Whether you need a warm, cozy place in winter, or a place to beat the heat in Summer, they have you covered. My family was able to try diamond art and bubble teas this summer ALL because of a FREE library program! (I may have a pint-sized bubble-tea fanatic in my house now). (Even better – I’m not paying $5/drink anymore. We need to ensure that our $1 Club doesn’t have to become a $5 Club! 🤷)
💸 Speaking of our $1 Club, please check out the Shop Small Support Local Event – these are easy ways that you can support us and help us keep our lights on and internet paid.
🗓️ As you looked at the calendar, I’m curious, which calendar view is your favorite? Month? List? Summary? Day? Or a combination?
Just one quick note– Events are coming in FAST! So, refresh these links above often for the most up-to-date information. Event Hosts: You can help us out by using our Event Submission Form! We’d REALLY appreciate it!
🥗🧑🌾 Those of you with WIC or Senior Farmers Market Vouchers – time is running out to use them! They expire on October 31st. Now a tiny, personal plug – I work very part-time for Mares Farm Market. I know they still have quite a few eligible products available, are still open and accept the vouchers!
As I posted a few weeks ago, we’ve had to adjust our social media presence a little bit. We have added a few groups over the last few weeks.
Rural NEW Families Events – this is a group for events that either won’t make it on the calendar due to time restrictions (it’s an event happening same day, etc), an event for my to-do list or an organization submission. (Disclaimer: Not all events pass through the Event Group on their way to the website.) (I created this group long before I created Rural).
Clintonville Area Let’s Talk About It

Outagamie, Waupaca, Shawano Counties Political Discussion
Rural Northeast Wisconsin Families Facebook Page – follow and interact with this one to make sure you get updates between e-mailed articles.
Rural NEW families Alternative School Outings – for families not enrolled in the traditional brick and mortar education system.
Of course, we have a couple of ICYMI FB posts:
🎁 Holiday Gift Idea #2 Plus Bonus Halloween ideas
📱 Lastly, we recommend adding the calendar to the home screen of your phone. FB posts can come and go, and bookmarks get lost. We don’t want you to miss out on an event because you forgot our name or website. (It happens. 🤷)
This image is for Apple, I’ll post Android instructions to our FB page in the next few days.

🏠 Over the past few years, we collected Holiday Decorated Houses so people know where to go for the Holiday Spirit! Feel free to sign up so people know where to find the best houses!
📋 Don’t forget, each event on our calendar can be saved to your own calendar for easy, customized reminders. Each event is also easy to share on and off Facebook! Friends Don’t Let Friends Miss An Event!
We hope you have a wonderful week! Check the website often! And hopefully we’ll see you out and about “in the wild”!
Any questions or issues with any of the forms or the website, you can always reach us on our FB Page, e-mail, or our Contact Us page – please include a message.
